Along with some of the more obvious songs to which I'll be exposing the Israelis, I'm glad that I'll now also have this latest one by DJ Earworm to play repeatedly.
And yes, I would insert a link to Nikki & Rich in a post about music. 2011 is their year. It's going to be legen---wait for it; wait for it ...

Pre-departure concerns
Admittedly, I'm not overly concerned with the logistics of living in Israel and such; I mean, it's Israel. But my parents have their respective concerns.
Guess which concern belongs to which parent:
1. Whether my beloved pea coat is really going to keep me warm enough because, Hillel, I know it's not Boston, but it can be rainy and cold there---remember that time it snowed in Jerusalem when we there over Chanukah while Yael was studying there for the year---I'm just saying that you're home for 3 weeks; maybe we could make a trip to Macy's at some point; I'll even let you drive.
2. Whether we'll go bankrupt because I was born after the Cold War and cell phones can be used to send text messages, which cost several cents that---I know you know, Hillel---add up very quickly.

A first post
Well I suppose I'll begin with a brief introduction. I intend to head to Israel this January to spend a semester or so in Jerusalem. At least for the semester part I'll be primarily at Hebrew University with the rest of the Brandeis delegation. Through this blog, you'll be able to read about whatever I feel like posting about over the next few months, which will be undoubtedly and uncompromisingly fascinating.
Feel free to post comments and send feedback, or, if it's your thing, just read every word of every post without ever saying a word. Oh, and for the record, it's "fosh" as in "rosh."
